An Application for Creative Writing

This Bachelor's thesis deals with the design and the implementation of the application, supposed to support comfortable writing of prose and offer helpful features like a management of chapters, characters and notes. It is able to automatically detect titles of chapters and names of characters in text. Application also offers other functions assisting the writer, including a name generator and an ability to set goals. The application includes multilingual multiplatform modern and personalizable GUI, which focuses on aesthetic, practicality and lucidity. Results of a usage of the application are exported into output file of various types.
A fairy tale as means to preschool child development

The bachelor thesis is focused on working with an authored fairy tale with preschool children in a kindergarten environment. The theoretical part contains three basic chapters. The first chapter introduces the characteristics, historical development and basic classification of fairy tales. It summarizes the function of fairy tales in preschool education and discusses the language style of fairy tales. The second chapter is focused on the fairy tale as a tool in preschool education. The third chapter deals with the analysis of the Preschool education curriculum framework (PECF) and the learning domains. The practical part deals with the implementation of philosophical discussion, creative writing and artistic elaboration of the authored fairy tale. Furthermore, it deals with the research investigation of the influence of a fairy tale story on a group of children in kindergarten.
Fanfiction in context of teaching czech language

This diploma thesis deals with applying fanfiction to the Czech language and literature lessons for the 2nd stage of basic school. The main focus is on writing with esthetical focus. First part deals with fanfiction set on its application in education. Next part is studying the demands of Czech curriculum on teaching writing methods and the goals and methods of creative writing. Third part opens the possibilities of fanfiction and discusses reasons why fanfiction is useful. It gives ideas how to use fanfiction in education in specific ways to explore student's literacy and other skills. Last part contains four lesson plans based on work with fanfiction and its curriculum's themes. Three of these lessons were experienced with years 7, 8 and 9 students. Applying fanfiction seems to be useful, especially with theme setting and students' motivation.

Creative writing as form of mental tension processing: motivation to creative work, course of creative process and healing aspects of creative writing

The aim of this thesis is to explore the aspect of creative writing as a form of mental tension treatment. Thesis covers basic elements of working with mental tension such as motivation for writing, creative process and its results. Respondents, which are close friends of mine, are regulary writing stories in a time of discomfort. All of them are women between twenty one and twenty six years old and also college students. At first they were told to write a story in a time of unhappinnes. After that a meeting was scheduled where the said story was discussed and acquired data were furtherly processed by quantitative research method. A basic outline of knowledge about motivation for writing and added value of creative writing was obtained from this thesis.
Effectiveness of the Creative Writing Method to Develop Writing Skills in Czech as Foreign/Second Language

This dissertation concentrates on the development of writing skills in learners of Czech as a foreign/second language at A2-B2 levels. It aims to determine whether creative writing has positive influence on linguistic and discursive competence in acquiring Czech, as opposed to classic approaches. For these purposes, a probe was conducted in form of a one-semester qualitative action research. The sample consisted of 30 non-native University respondents. They were divided into two experimental and two control groups - with upmost regard to their comparability in terms of language levels, socio-linguistic parameters, the genres and topics assigned, as well as the number of lessons taught. In experimental groups, the writing skills was developed by the method of creative writing while the control groups were taught by means of traditional approach. After the semester, in case of experimental group I and control group I (at levels B1/B2), comparable increase in competences took place, therefore it can be concluded that the creative writing method may influence the development of the writing skills positively. In case of experimental group II and control group II (at levels A2/B1), the results are ambiguous. Nevertheless, the experimental groups̕ respondents had higher sureness in drafting.
Possibilities of seminars of creative writing on the high school

The diploma thesis Possibilities of seminars of creative writing in high school seeks to describe and theoretically explicate the implementation of creative writing into high school education. The thesis is divided into two parts - a theoretical and a practical one. The theoretical part focuses on the author's conception of creative writing, on the possibilities and components of creative writing understood as both a teaching method and a subject. The section also deals with the interconnection of teaching of creative writing and the Framework Educational Programme. In particular, it discusses the relation of the subject to key competencies and cross-curricular subject. The main goal of the theoretical part is to propose a creative writing thematic plan for high school. In the practical part, concrete activities and preparations for teaching of creative writing are presented. Furthermore, the part includes description of the course of some lessons and also reflection of lessons that have already been given from the teacher's and students' perspective. The purpose of the diploma thesis is twofold. First, it consists in the evaluation of the use of creative writing teaching in high school with regard to its background in curricular documents.
